Bring your mug to life with the Octopus's Garden mug set, a coordinated companion texture set that decorates the outside, inside and base of your mug as one continuous design.
 
This four-piece set has been designed to texture both sides of a slab at the same time. Roll your clay between the two coordinating texture sheets before wrapping it into a mug. The result is an octopus on the outside while its tentacles continue over the rim and into the inside of the mug, creating a delightful surprise each time the cup is used.
 
The set includes:
Outside mug texture featuring Magpie's much-loved octopus illustration.
Inside companion texture with flowing tentacles that continue the story around the interior of the mug.
Base stamp with the hidden message:
"Meet me where the sky touches the sea."
Handle texture featuring a curling tentacle that visually connects the inside and outside of the design.
 
Unlike Magpie's Footring Collection, the base design does not include a built-in foot ring. This leaves you free to finish your mug however you prefer—leave the base flat, gently dome it into a rounded mug base, or add your own ring or coiled foot ring.
 
The companion sheets create a mug that reveals itself over time. At first you see the octopus wrapped around the outside. As you drink, the tentacles emerge inside the mug, giving the impression that the creature is reaching over the rim. It's a playful detail that delights both the maker and the eventual owner.
 
Designed for slab builders, this set makes it easy to create mugs that feel completely resolved, with every surface considered.

Texture sheets measure 100mm by 280mm which - depending on clay shrinkage and your preferred forming technique results in a mug that holds approx 400-440mls or 12 - 14 Fluid Oz.
