An ornate, flowing floral pattern designed to bring elegance, movement, and surface richness to functional pottery.
Pairs beautifully with translucent, celadon, and breaking glazes.
Ornamental Lotus is a full-sized EVA foam texture sheet (380 × 380 mm), created for potters who want detailed surface pattern with a refined, decorative feel. Stylised lotus blooms, scrolling stems, and finely engraved linework form a rhythmic repeat that feels intentional and balanced across large forms.
The layered engraving catches glaze in multiple ways — pooling in recessed areas, breaking across raised lines, and revealing detail through contrast and movement.
This design works equally well as an all-over texture or as part of a framed composition using Magpie masks and templates. Rich enough to stand on its own, yet structured enough to support cohesive sets.
Best suited for
Dinner plates, chargers, and serving platters
Decorative trays and feature slabs
Statement pieces where surface detail is a focal point
Consistent sets with an ornamental or classical character
Why potters love it
Elegant, repeatable pattern with strong visual rhythm
Fine linework enhances glaze variation and depth
Reads clearly on both flat forms and gentle curves
Excellent peel and clean release in soft clay
Designed as part of a system
Ornamental Lotus is sized to work seamlessly with the Magpie Dinnerware System. Use it as a complete surface, or pair it with masks and templates to create borders, reserved centres, or repeated framing across a full dinnerware set.
Start with the texture. Add tools as you grow. Build a system that supports repeatable, thoughtful design.
